One Month Old

One month old, say it isn't so! Where does the time go? It feels like we just came home from the hospital last week.

Today, in addition to her one month birthday, was Paloma's first official bath. She cried through most of it, but towards the end, decided it might not be too bad.

Snow, The Sequel

Maybe it has to do with her current obsession over snowmen, or maybe because she makes me sing "Let it Snow" several times a day, or perhaps it's the simple fact that she finally understands what "snow" is.......Whatever it is, this week Milan finally enjoyed playing in the snow. She let me put on her snowsuit, hat, mittens, and boots without any fuss, she seemed very anxious to go outside with Daddy to help shovel snow.

She didn't glance back at all, no hesitation.

She didn't shed a tear.

She squealed in delight instead of screaming.

She wanted Daddy to keep pulling her.

What a difference two months makes.

Don't you love when they sleep with their arms up and out?

She now loves her boots, wants to wear them constantly.

My little sweethearts!

Snow

Sunday morning we woke up to about a foot of snow. It's very unusual for us to see any snow in December, let alone a significant amount. We were very excited because Milan has never played in snow before, so after breakfast I dressed her in her new snowsuit (she hated it), new hat (she hated it), new mittens (she hated them), and new boots (she hated these so much it triggered a full blown temper tantrum). It took me 30 minutes to get her dressed, with Milan pitching a fit the entire time. Finally, we were ready to head outside to play with the little sled I've been holding for her since before she was born. She totally hated it, removed her mittens in an act of defiance and howled the entire time. We pulled her on the sled for a couple of minutes and finally decided to end her misery. I don't know if you can tell by the pictures, but she was crying in nearly all of them.

We will try again another day.

Holiday Dangers

This is what happens when your two year old yanks on a Christmas stocking and the heavy stocking holder comes tumbling down, narrowly missing her eye (for which we are very thankful) and leaving a nasty scratch on her face.

Needless to say, I put the stocking holders away.
