3 Months Old & A Potty Training Update

Recently, it's gotten pretty hectic in our household. In addition to the everyday mechanics of trying to raise two young children, Milan was hospitalized over Easter due to reactive airway disease. The doctors are not sure if this was an isolated incident or the beginnings of what could eventually become a diagnosis of asthma, but for now she is feeling much better.

I can hardly believe it, but Paloma turned 3 months old today. She is full of smiles and becoming more and more vocal each day. She hasn't officially laughed, but I expect that to happen any day now. I know she finds her Mommy's antics pretty amusing, and won't be able to hold her laugh in much longer.

In other news.....Milan is officially potty training! We are on day number 5. Days 1-3 were really rough (for me and the carpets), but she stayed dry all day yesterday and so far the first half of today! Getting her poopy in the potty is proving to be a little more difficult, but I won't go into all of those details! :)

Family Visit

Last week my sister Catherine and her daughter Jenna were here for a visit. Not only were Milan (who adores Jenna) and Jenna reunited, but they also met Paloma for the first time. We had a wonderful week, but feel sad at how quickly it went by.

Kids Say The Cutest Things.....

The other day as Milan crawled onto my lap with her nose running, she pointed to her nose and said, " Mommy...tissue please...nose crying".

Two Month Stats

Weight - 10 lbs 9 oz - 42nd percentile

Height - 22.5 inches - 54th percentile

Finally, after a slow start re-gaining her birth weight (she dropped from 9lbs to 8 lbs 2 oz before leaving the hospital and it took us 5 weeks to get back up to 9 lbs--her pediatrician wanted her back up to her birth weight within the first two weeks), she is finally gaining at a pace her pediatrician's are thrilled with! Although a bigger baby at birth, she now seems to be quite average in size.

Two Months Old

Yesterday our little Moma (this is what Milan calls her and now we are all calling her Moma), turned two months old. I can't believe how quickly time is flying by. She is definitely more alert, has much longer awake times, smiles a lot, and drumroll please..... officially slept through the night last night! Yes, my little Paloma slept from 11pm to 7am! I finally had to wake her as I had not nursed her for several hours and was in a lot of pain. Tomorrow is her two month well check and afterwards I will post her stats.

Finally, Spring is in the Air!

After a long, hard winter, Spring finally made an appearance this week. Since Monday, we've had temperatures in the 60's, so the girls and I have spent some time each day walking around the farm and enjoying the beautiful weather. Milan loves our walks and is intent on finding a stray cat we discovered on Tuesday. She walks around continuously yelling "cat" or "hey cat". Paloma, on the other hand, falls fast asleep the second we are outside...I don't think she has opened her eyes once in the last four days during our little outdoor excursions.

Potty Time?!

All of a sudden this week, Milan has been asking to use the potty. She hasn't "produced" anything yet, and is more than happy to sit on the pot for 15-20 min...a long time when I have a baby fussing in another room, but it is all exciting nonetheless. I probably won't start serious training until April, but in the meantime, I've started her sitting on the potty during diaper changes. In April we will bring out the big girl underwear and keep our fingers crossed!

And yes, I'm sure she will hate me one day because of these pictures!
