Our Trip to Idaho

We recently spent two weeks visiting my family in Idaho. For my Father, this was his first time meeting his newest grandchild, Paloma. We had a wonderful visit and hated having to leave. We hope one day, sooner rather than later, we can find a way to move out there to be closer to my family. These are just a few of the 1500+ photos I took during our two week stay.

Daddy and Lita Ford

Although this is the home for anything and everything regarding Milan and Paloma, I've noted on the sidebar that this blog also co-stars Mommy and Daddy. Today's post is going to be all about Daddy.

Recently, James landed a spot in Lita Ford's band and this past weekend he flew to South Dakota and Oklahoma to perform with her at a couple of rock festivals.

Daddy did a fabulous job. Our only regret is we couldn't be there to support him, but Milan and I sang and danced to Lita songs all weekend...we were there in spirit!

Happy 6 Month Birthday!

I think the most difficult thing about being a parent, for me, is watching your children grow up so quickly and knowing there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
It certainly doesn't seem like it's been 6 months since Paloma was born and while it has been wonderful watching her grow and development, there is always this nagging little thought in the back of my mind, knowing that before I know it, she and Milan will be grown and gone.
In the meantime, I will try to stay present and enjoy the two blessings I've been given.

Today, Paloma had her 6 month well check. She weighed in at nearly 15 pounds (26th percentile) and 25.5 inches (50th percentile). Her head circumference fell into the 80th percentile, and while her pediatrician isn't too concerned with it, he asked that I bring her back for a head check next month. Hopefully all is ok, and she just inherited her Daddy's big noggin!

While we were in Idaho, Paloma rolled from her back to her tummy and is now using that as a form of travel...rolling to get to things she can't reach otherwise. She spins on her belly and just today started to scoot while lying on her back. I now have to constantly keep my eye on her!

By this weekend I hope to post a few of the pictures taken during our trip to Idaho!
