Week 25 - Happy Half Birthday!

When you become a new Mom, one of the most common things you hear  is how it all goes by so fast.  From the moment she was born, I have made an effort to absorb as much as possible, to try to capture and store in my mind, every moment.  There is nothing else, nothing more than this.  I feel really sorry for those parents who are too distracted to feel these moments, or who are too caught up in other things and can't be present for their child.  Milan is 6 months old today (sigh)...it went by in the blink of an eye.

Week 24 - Happy Mother's Day!

Today was my very first Mother's Day and it was spent with the three of us going to the mall to do a little shopping.  Gone are the days when James and I could only bring Milan out for short periods of time before she would start to lose it.  Today we were out for nearly 6 hours and had no problems with her at all.

This week in school, Milan made her very first Mother's Day gift.

She also used to her foot to capture her little footprint for Mommy to keep forever.

I had a wonderful time spending my first Mother's Day with my husband and daughter.

Remember a few weeks ago, when we first introduced Milan to her jumperoo?  She wasn't able to do much in it other than sit.  Which leads me to:

Week 23 - First Day of School

This week Milan started daycare! It is a small group atmosphere run by two women, for children ranging in age from 5 months to 3 years. They are education focused (which is why we refer to it as school), so we know Milan will learn as she grows. Mommy was very nervous the first day, but as it turns out, Milan had a very good day. She took two, two hour naps and finished all of her bottles. She sat in a bouncy seat and an exersaucer and enjoyed watching the children play. Tomorrow will be Milan's second day, and although I feel the return of the knot in my stomach, knowing I will send my child to be cared for by someone other than myself, I realize it will only be two days each week and I know Milan will enjoy herself.
